February Board Meeting
February 13, 2015
In person: Doris Clegg, Erin DeStefanis, Rick Kerner, Marilyn Marles, Peggy Salvatore, Joan Zachary
Virtually: Karen Lubrecht, Mary Frances Mika, Meloney Sallie-Dosunmu, Suzanne Wagner
Our first order of business was to fill our two open board positions: Erin DeStefanis (NACE) will handle Programs; Doris Clegg (SKF) has volunteered serve on the committee to assist her. Meloney Sallie-Dosunmu will fill the position for Membership and Volunteers. As might be imagined, both Programs and Membership/Volunteers are big areas of responsibility, so Erin and Meloney will be looking for committee members to help them out.
We are still in need of help from some of our far-flung members in the Poconos and in Reading, to run the geographical interest groups (GIGs) for those areas. Marilyn Marles will see if anyone in the Consultants Forum SIG would be interested.
Six board members (Rick Kerner, Karen Lubrecht, Peggy Salvatore, Erin DeStefanis, Mary Frances Mika and Joan Zachary) will be having lunch with Dr. Paul Pierpoint on Monday. Dr. Pierpoint is the dean of the Northampton Community College’s Southside Center, and will be our speaker at our March 20 quarterly meeting. At our lunch, we hope to narrow down a topic with Dr. Pierpoint, and maybe even record a brief promotional video.
As a part of our CORE/CARE requirements with ATD National, we need to explore alliances with other associated organizations in the area. We discussed joint meetings with Toastmasters, the Project Management Institute (PMI) or the Association for Psychological Type International (APTI). The Program committee will put this on their list of items to discuss.
Our next meeting is scheduled for March 13. Right now, we have it set for Wegman’s in Bethlehem, from noon to 1 PM, but due to the difficulties with noise and space that we experienced at today’s meeting, we are considering a change in venue and/or time, or an entirely virtual meeting. The board will be notified as soon as a decision is made.
