The meeting was opened with the recording started at 12:01 .

Action Item Status

  • o   ALC – a team has been registered and rooms reserved. Individual members of the team need to complete the second form. Completed? Members of the team need to file personal information. I know that most have done so. Some have not informed me of their completion. Danny didn’t get a confirmation and will attempt the registration again.
  • o   Budget. – Was approved with 11 of 13 votes cast and all in favor.  Both Angie and Leslie volunteered that they did not vote since they had just come onboard and did not feel versed sufficiently to make a decision. That completes the list.
  • o   Audit status. – Mary Frances. -  The audit is scheduled for the end of July.  The auditors requested the minutes from last year’s Board Meetings. – She did get the information she and the auditors need. They have had all of the materials for about a week, but did not respond to a request for status..
  • o   Reminder that we are all expected to be PowerMembers and that as Board members that is upgraded to Plus. With the Professional Plus membership you receive all Professional benefits plus access to premium Community of Practice content in all interest areas, an additional e-book, three more digital issues of TD at Work, and a full ATD research report.

 

VP and Director Reports

  • o   Chapter VP of Finance from Mary Frances Mika - Financial Report in Appendix A. Leslie moved to accept the report and Peggy seconded. All approved.
  • o   Chapter VP of Admin from Suzanne Wagner - Report in Appendix B. Peggy moved to accept the report and Karen seconded. All approved.
  • o   Chapter VP of Marketing - Danny Carrion requested that the group provide him with any marketing needs. He will create an updated brochure to provide to regional professional meetings. Peggy asked him to give her a call for help.
  • o   Chapter VP Membership and Volunteers – Angie Merkle and Leslie Smith are just getting started.  Angie is looking for the disconnect with between our records and PowerMemberships. They are looking for what people looking for/getting. Mary Frances uses the ATD Chapter checklist to know what to do. Karen requested that Board members document their responsibilities and the processes as they are performed through the year.
  • o   Chapter VP of Programs and Events from Erin DeStefanis - Report in Appendix C.
  • o   Chapter VP of Pocono GIG from Kate Jendral –  Kate is traveling today.
  • ·         Currently planning a networking event on 15 October 2015 to determine interests and build community. hors doeuvres would be provided by the Chapter with cash beverages. Her current plan is for quarterly meetings with a speaker.
  • ·         Revising the name to become consistent throughout our website and reflect the region. Currently leaning toward the NEPA GiG as it appears when you click on the GIG on the About Us link on our website.
  • o   Chapter VP of Reading GIG from Position not yet filled -
  • o   Director of Best Practices for Interals SIG from Joan Zachary – Joan is traveling today. But has submitted the report in Appendix D.
  • o   Director of Book Club from Joel Zingone.
  • o   Director of Consultants Forum SIG from Marilyn Marles – Marilyn is traveling today, but she has submitted the report in Appendix E.
  • o   Director of eLearning SIG from Karen Lubrecht. Karen submitted the report in Appendix F with the schedule for the meetings through April 2016.

Appendix D: Best Practices for Internals Report for July from Joan Zachary.

The last meeting of the Best Practices for Internals SIG was held at B. Braun, with thirteen people in attendance.  The topic was “Making Compliance Training Fun” – and it produced a lot of great discussion!  By the way, we are looking for hosts and topics for 2016.

Appendix E: Consultants Forum Report for July from Marilyn Marles

We had a very small group Friday morning at Kutztown University to discuss assessments, facilitated by Vince Fazio.

As usual, we had a most useful and enlightening discussion. 

         Attendees included Vince Fazio, Diane Dudley, Linda Friscia Oppe’ and Marilyn Marles.

Meeting topics and facilitators are set through the end of 2015 but are subject to last minute changes; all meetings will be at St Johns UCC, Kutztown

August 28 :              no meeting, but interested bicyclers meet on August 28 @8:30 for a group trail ride. 

September 25:      Mining the Gold - using experiential learning; debriefing exercises to make the most of potential learning

Appendix F: eLearning SIG Report for July from Karen Lubrecht

The group for July’s meeting was small. 8 registered in addition to our three panelists and me. Due to the posting of the recording, those who were unable to attend synchronously have the opportunity to enjoy it at their convenience. Martha Harris, Angela R Merkle and Cindy Sheetz presented on Active Learning.

Our next meeting will be held online on 19 October 2015 at 7 pm. I will be presenting The 5 “S”s of Synchronous Sessions. Peggy Salvatore will help facilitate this session.

We will begin next year with Pooja Rudra presenting eLearning in Circles: An Evaluation of Reading Circles as a Teaching/Learning Method on 18 January 2016.

Peggy Salvatore will present on working with SMEs on 18 April 2016. The final title is still being refined. Her second book on the topic is due for release.
