The process of onboarding has already begun.  Danny Carrion held a programming meeting on Monday, December 7.  We went over Danny’s plans, which include quarterly all-membership events:

  • First quarter – A Train-the-Trainer or Presentation Skills course, done by a chapter member.  Requests for Proposals will be sent out shortly.
  • Second quarter – A Road Show meeting at a local company (we’re shooting for Crayola or Amazon)
  • Third quarter – A C-level panel discussion on what executives at that level want from the talent developers of the world.
  • Fourth quarter – A holiday event, perhaps with a well-known speaker.

The hope was expressed that there would be other events throughout the year for the general membership.  Rick pointed out that the SIGs provide events, too.  Marilyn Marles wondered if there could also be an event – or even a SIG – aimed at more experienced L&D professionals.

Communications and Marketing: 

Pooja submitted the following report:

  • The use of the Chamber of Commerce membership – potential for selecting applicable events and taking turns attending – we will look over the schedule and divide up the events.
  • Strategy for communications for events next year:
    • For smaller events and SIG events, 2 emails + LinkedIn + Twitter
    • Larger events, 4 emails over 6 weeks + LinkedIn + Twitter
  • Request for sharing any media contacts our Board Members might have with me

La Salle Sponsorship – Suzanne has not had a chance to check into this, but will have something for us next month,

CARE – Karen is working on this and says we are in good shape to meet the January 11 deadline.

VP and Director Reports

  • Chapter VP of Finance from Mary Frances Mika – Transition and onboarding for Maria is underway.
  • Chapter VP of Admin from Suzanne Wagner - Aging Receivables and Income reports are at the end of the agenda.  Suzanne would like VPs and directors to be more self-sufficient in making changes to their own events on the website.  Rick offered to teach a Wild Apricot class for the board; we’ll schedule this for February.
  • Director of Best Practices for Internals SIG from Joan Zachary – All meetings and topics are in place for 2016 and on the website, ready for signup.
  • Director of Consultants Forum SIG from Marilyn Marles –see report attached to the agenda.

·  January 8, 2015, noon – 1 pm.  We will once again meet at Martin Guitar.  Those who can’t make it to Nazareth are welcome to call in.
